Internationally-renowned street entertainment comes to Mansfield

Guinness World Record holder and street entertainer Rob Roy Collins will be appearing on Mansfield Market to perform his daredevil routine from 11am on Saturday 29 October.

As part of the market transformation project, Mansfield District Council hosts captivating street entertainment on Market Place to entertain shoppers on the last Saturday of each month.

This month, Rob Roy Collins, one of the UK’s leading escape artists with over ten years’ experience, will be entertaining the crowds with all sorts of stunts, which in the past have included escaping upside down from straightjackets, chains, rope and handcuffs.

The Guinness World Record he holds was achieved after he famously escaped from a straitjacket while hanging upside down from a helicopter in flight.

This internationally renowned performer has wowed audiences around the world from America to Australia. Always well received, Rob is able to capture the attention of a crowd by combining balance, acrobatics and escapology with a natural sense of humour, comic timing and showmanship.

Marchants Solicitors (www.marchantsolicitors.co.uk), with offices in Mansfield and Kirkby in Ashfield, who have been providing legal services in the town for over 100 years, wanted to support the town centre transformation project by sponsoring this act.

Nick Aspley, partner of Marchants, said “We have had an office in the market square since our firm was started and therefore have taken a keen interest in the redevelopment of the market square area, and we wanted to do our bit in supporting the council in attracting more local businesses and people into the town.”

Portfolio Holder for Corporate Services, Stewart Rickersey said: “We would like to thank Marchants for supporting the council by sponsoring this month’s act.

“The Covent Garden entertainers in previous months have been well received by the public and so we encourage other local businesses to sponsor future acts to help us in our efforts to drive footfall to the town centre.”
