An Evening On Broadway

A relaxed, café-style concert is being performed on Saturday 25 June at 7.30pm at the Queen Elizabeth’s Academy for Mansfield Choral Societies’ Summer Concert.

The choir rehearses in the school hall every Thursday.

An Evening On Broadway features music from some of the great classic musicals of our time – with selections from West Side Story, My Fair Lady and more.

Every year the Mansfield Choral Society invites the John Ogdon Award winner from the previous year’s Mansfield Music Festival competition to perform with them.

Young mezzo-soprano soloist Olivia Caputa, who performed with the choir this time last year, singing the part of The Sorceress in Dido & Aeneas, will perform.

Mansfield Choral Society is a non-audition, friendly, welcoming mixed choir of soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices with a current membership of over 100 active members of a variety of ages.

The concert is a much lighter genre of music to that which the choir have been singing. The café-style setting invites visitors to pull up a chair and join friends at a table filled with refreshments.

Tickets for An Evening on Broadway on Saturday 25 June at 7.30pm are priced £10 and £5 for under 16’s and are available through the societies website www.MansfieldChoral.org.uk from 01623 883277 or on the door at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy on Saturday 25th June from 7pm.
