Trim trail launched as part of town’s fitness campaign

Posted onPosted on 20th Jun

A new fitness trail has been opened in Fisher Lane Park, Mansfield, as part of the district council’s mission to get the town moving.

The trail is aimed at all ages, but with a mini-climbing wall, cargo net and swinging tyres, it is hoped it will particularly appeal to older children.

The trail, which is British manufactured, has been funded by developers as part of new housing projects.

Coun Andrew Tristram, portfolio holder for environment and wellbeing, said: “This is the latest in a series of trim trails that Mansfield District Council has installed.

“We think it will give Fisher Lane Park added appeal and we really hope it encourages people of all ages into the fresh air to get some exercise.”
Over the past eight years six fitness trails have been installed in open spaces around the district. Others can be found at Titchfield Park, Chesterfield Road Park, Racecourse Park and Kings Walk open space.
