Striker Rose signs for Stags

Mansfield Town havesigned striker Danny Rose from League 1 Bury for an undisclosed fee.

Manager Adam Murray has secured the services of 22-year-old Rose after negotiations with both the player and his former club, Bury.

The Stags fought off competition from League 1 clubs in the race for Rose’s signature.

Born in Barnsley, Rose signed his first professional contract with the Tykes at the age of 17 and went on to make his senior debut a month later in a 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers.

The striker then enjoyed two separate loan spells with Bury – including promotion from League 2 in 2014/15 – before signing permanently for the Lancashire club in August 2014.

Rose made 28 appearances for the Shakers last season, helping them to secure a 14th place finish in Sky Bet League 1, scoring five goals in the process.

After signing for the Stags, Rose says he is aiming to cement a place in the Stags’ first team after making most of his appearances for the Shakers from the bench.

“It’s a good club and I’m delighted to be here,” Rose said.

“[Moving to Mansfield] for me, means playing games regularly; playing week-in-week-out, scoring a few goals, contributing to the team and hopefully a push towards promotion.

“Hopefully it will be a successful time here with this group of players and staff,” he added.
