The under-15 girls’ rugby union team at The Samworth Church Academy, Mansfield, was crowned one of the top six sides in the country.

They won the RFU National Area 4 Competition.

The team won all four of their group matches convincingly, conceding just one try and scoring almost 20 tries themselves.

The girls won their semi-final 4-0 and the final 4-1.

The team was: captain Lucy Harrop, Heidi Seaton, Georgina Tasker, Emily Bingley, Jodie Baker, Beth Cope, Melissa Richardson, Hannah Blake, Scarlett Sykes, Molly Sindall and Katy Grundy.
