Former England and British Lions captain and lock forward Bill Beaumont, who is now chairman of World Rugby, is the guest of honour at a dinner in Mansfield.

Beaumont, who led England to their first Grand Slam for 33 years, in 1980 will head up an Armchair Club sporting dinner at Portland College on Thursday, 24th November.

The club raises money to help local sportspeople and in the past has backed the likes of swimming stars Rebecca Adlington, Sam and Ollie Hynd, and Charlotte Henshaw

Comedian Kevin Connelly, one of the stars of BBC2’s highly-acclaimed Dead Ringers series, will also entertain guests.
