Derby day delight for Stags

Mansfield Town won a thrilling derby clash with local rivals Notts County on Saturday thanks to two substitutes.

Talisman striker Matt Green, dropped to the bench for the last four matches, broke the deadlock within 40 seconds of coming on in the 54th minute – the Stags’ first home goal for 440 minutes.

The striker then kept his nerve in the final minute to hammer a penalty, won by Mal Benning, into the roof of the net seven minutes later in front of 5,763 fans.

Four minutes into injury time Darius Henderson blasted in his first goal for the club to secure only Mansfield’s second home win of the season, their first at One Call Stadium for five matches.
