New customer portal on way at council

Mansfield District Council is to launch a new sign-in customer portal to improve access to its services in spring 2018.

The system has been built in-house to encourage more residents to self-serve and do more online transactions with the authority.

The portal is one of the first major developments emerging from the council’s Digital Transformation Strategy. It will be available from the website homepage www.mansfield.gov.uk and all online customers will be encouraged to set up and access an account every time they visit.

The benefit of creating an account is that users are given tailored content, including bin collection days, ward councillor details, Council Tax information and in the future the chance to see balances, payments and outstanding amounts in one place.

Coun Stewart Rickersey, portfolio holder for corporate services, said: “The portal will bring Mansfield District Council into the 21st Century and give customers real time, direct interaction with essential front line services.

“We need residents to help us test the portal before it goes live next year. Please sign up to become part of our testing pool by emailing [email protected] by 24 November.”
