Mansfield-based accountancy practice JRB Accountancy has become the first corporate sponsor of Wayne Swiffin, the Mansfield-based PR consultant who is running the 2017 London Marathon.

Wayne, who owns Mandatum PR, is taking part in the event for The Royal British Legion.

He is hoping to attract corporate sponsors to help him reach his fundraising target of £2,500, and JRB has become the first.

James Boler, who launched the accountancy practice, said: “Wayne is raising money for a great cause, and I know that he has been training already for the London Marathon. For someone who has only recently taken up running, it will be a massive achievement. JRB is delighted to be sponsoring him and wish him the very best. We’ll be cheering him on.”

Wayne has completed a number of 5km and 10km events during 2016, and completed his first ever half marathon in Nottingham in September this year.

He said: “I’m very grateful to James and all at JRB for their support. I really would like it if other companies could sponsor me too, as it helps the important work of the Legion, and there are a range of fundraising options available to corporate sponsors.”
