Hopkins Solicitors apprentice up for award

Posted onPosted on 14th Aug

Belinda Clark, an apprentice at Hopkins Solicitors, which has offices in Mansfield and Nottingham, has been nominated as a finalist for the Apprentice Of The Year Business Award run by the East Midlands Chamber.

The award recognises the rising stars who will become the business leaders of tomorrow by demonstrating they have made an exceptional contribution to their workplace.

Belinda was recently promoted to junior legal secretary.

Rebecca Truscott, HR manager at Hopkins, said: “Belinda is a very bright and helpful young lady, who is always willing and obliging to help out anyone who needs it.

“Her potential to widen her experience in law has shown through in her enthusiasm and her understanding of the legal procedures when dealing with fellow clients and employees.

“Combined with her great client care skills, this has resulted in Belinda recently being promoted to junior legal secretary.
“We are proud of her and look forward to helping climb the legal career ladder.”

The winner will be announced at a black-tie gala in Nottingham on 15th September.

Belinda said: “I feel that there is so much I could learn from working closely with the experienced members of the company in all aspects of law. My goal is to gain that experience and return that knowledge to the company as a valued member of the team.”

Hopkins Solicitors has been a long-standing supporter in hiring and training local young people to join its workforce to gain experience in the professional services industry.

It currently employs many apprentices and trainee solicitors, and is in the process of hiring more in September.

“We are continuously hiring new apprentices and trainees from the local region to ensure that we are giving back to the local community, not just from a legal services perspective but also from an economic perspective,” said Martyn Knox, managing partner.

“It has been our experience that the new apprentices and trainees we’ve taken on have become a huge asset to our business.

“We love to support and watch them grow into their careers, and the majority choose to stay with us here at Hopkins as long standing loyal employees.”
