Final summer festival this week

Wednesday 24th August is the last chance for families to enjoy a day of fun, free entertainment at the final Mansfield District Council Summer Festival at Carr Lane Park, Warsop.

From 10am to 3pm there will be activities for all the family to enjoy- including the dog.

Arena attractions will include a fun dog show with games and tricks for the chance to win rosettes. The council’s dog control team will also be on hand to offer advice on responsible dog ownership.

There will be giant garden games, circus workshops, maypole dancing and parachute games as well as a Punch and Judy Show plus music by Dammit Jack and the Maypole Good Time Band.

There will be BMX taster sessions with a qualified instructor and have –go sessions on E-Bikes. Multi-sports activities will include short tennis and Soccercise class.

Representatives from various council departments including Environmental Health, Leisure and Community Safety will also be available to answer questions and give advice.

Most activities will be free but some will require a small donation.

Cllr Andrew Tristram, Mansfield District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “After the success of the first two Summer Festivals we’re looking forward to end the holidays with a bang at Carr Lane.

There will be something for everyone so there’s no better reason to get out the house, come rain or shine, to make the most of the summer holidays.”
