Teen sets up online jewellery business

AN 18-year-old former Garibaldi College student has set up an online handmade jewellery business based in Forest Town.

Scott Robinson, who studied A-Level business studies, maths and psychology at the college’s sixth-form, has worked with polymer clay and resin for several years.

His business is called ToadstoolCrafting.

“I have always seen myself as a creative person,” he said.

“After finishing in the sixth-form I came across the website Etsy, an online marketplace for handmade goods.

“I instantly knew I wanted to open a shop and sell around the globe.

“Since opening I have sold to many places in Britain, Spain, Germany and several states in America.”

Scott has been developing a new range of jewellery inspired by nature and the woodlands that surround the Mansfield area.

It will feature a variety of woodland animals and items such as leaves and acorns that make up the woodland itself — all made out of polymer clay.

“I have many more ideas for ranges and styles inspired by aspects of nature and the natural beauty that wildlife possesses,” Scott said.

“More pieces are being added to the woodland range and I’m also willing to create bespoke items to suit customers’ needs.”

His online shop is at toadstoolcrafting.etsy.com
