Second year win for online learning business

Posted onPosted on 26th Jan

A prestigious national award has been awarded to a Mansfield-based company which specialises in GCSE and functional skills learning online for the second year running.

Leading online education provider, bksb Ltd is proud to hold the ICT Company of the Year award for companies with a £3m or more turnover. It was one of nine other companies who were shortlisted in this category.

Last year they scooped the award for companies with less than a £3m turnover. This year, they applied for the category designed for companies with more than a £3m turnover – and won at the first attempt.

The team collected their award last night (25 January) at the British Educational Training and Technology Show (Bett) Awards 2017, which was held at Tobacco Dock in London.

The BETT show is annual trade show which showcases the use of information technology in education and the awards play a key role in identifying and rewarding excellence in this sector.

Managing director at bksb, Harvinder Atwal, who collected the award, said: “We’re delighted to have been selected as a Bett Award Winner for the second year in a row.

“I’m extremely proud that bksb supports so many education providers in delivering high-quality English, maths and ICT programmes, and this accolade is a reward for all the hard work that our team puts into our market-leading assessments and resources on a daily basis.”

A subsidiary of West Nottinghamshire College, bksb, is based at the i2Centre, off Hamilton Way, and has seen its online learning resources used by more than 25 million people and thousands of education-providers across the world since it launched almost 20 years ago.

In the UK alone, over 88% of colleges and hundreds of schools, training providers, local authorities and employers use its solutions to improve teaching and learning.
