Major award for businesswoman

Posted onPosted on 19th Jul

Harvinder Atwal, the managing director of Mansfield-based eLearning provider bksb, has been named businesswoman of the year at the British Indian Awards.

The awards, which recognise successful business people of Indian heritage, look to capture the multicultural and entrepreneurial spirit in the UK as well as be a celebration of achievement.

Harvinder has been managing director of bksb for nine years, driving the domestic and international expansion of the award-winning eLearning company, which supports individuals to improve their English, maths and ICT skills.

A subsidiary of West Nottinghamshire College, bksb is based at the i2 Centre on Oakham Business Park, and has seen its online learning resources used by more than 25 million people and thousands of education-providers across the world since it launched almost 20 years ago.

bksb was crowned ICT Company of the Year at the Bett Awards 2016.

Harvinder said: “I am extremely proud and humbled to have been presented with this award. It would not have been possible without the commitment and innovative approach of the entire team at bksb.”
