Honour for solicitor

Posted onPosted on 12th Oct

Family law specialist Natalie Potter has become one of just a handful of lawyers to gain accreditation to a group of solicitors who can handle matters relating to children.

Natalie, who heads up the Family team at Fidler & Pepper Solicitors, is now a member of the Law Society’s Children’s Panel, and can support children, and adults whose children are at risk or have been taken into care.

Accreditation is the quality mark for legal professionals working in child-related law and is only available to solicitors and legal executives who can demonstrate that they “possess superior experience, knowledge and best practice in legal matters relating to children”.

Natalie said: “When it comes to matters involving families and children, not only is the law often quite complex, it also demands a certain approach from professionals.

“I am delighted that I have been able to demonstrate I have the knowledge, skills and experience required in order to gain accreditation. It will help to give further confidence to clients that we really do work to very high standards.”

According to the Law Society, to become accredited, legal practitioners have to undergo a rigorous process, including mandatory training and an interview assessment in front of a panel of experts.

Natalie has previously gained accreditation to the Law Society’s Family Panel.

Natalie can help in matters such as working out arrangements for children following family breakdowns, child protection, adopting a child, rights to see your children and child custody issues.
