Chamber welcomes TIS as latest patron

Security and Fire System Integrator TIS has become a patron of East Midlands Chamber*.

Incorporated in 1951, TIS is one of the UK’s leading independent firms of fire, security and communications specialists.

A privately-owned company, it develops some of the most advanced and sophisticated systems for industry, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and local authorities.

It employs around 140 staff at its Mansfield Headquarters, on Oakham Business Park, and also operates offices in Birmingham and Nottingham, which were opened to cope with business expansion.

The Chamber’s patrons’ scheme is aimed at businesses that want to take a leading role in the local business community. Chamber patrons are influential and prominent organisations which share the values that drive the Chamber forward.

James Twigg, Managing Director of the Combined Services Division at TIS said: “We are very excited to become a new patron of the East Midlands Chamber.

“We see the relationship as mutually beneficial as we can bring vital security and fire systems expertise to the Chamber and its members and hopefully we can engage with the members to improve both their systems and the service levels they receive.”

Chamber Chief Executive Scott Knowles said: “I am delighted to welcome TIS on board as the Chamber’s latest patron.

“It is an established business with a fantastic recent success story. It has won awards this year and has also been recognised in the CBI’s Top 200 fastest growing companies in the East Midlands for both 2015 and 2016.

“Chamber Patrons are a powerful force in influencing policy, driving economic growth and development and equipping smaller businesses with the knowledge and skills that are vital to their future.

“TIS will bring to the Chamber skills and expertise to complement those of the other Chamber patrons to evolve something which is, together, greater than the sum of its parts.”

The Chamber currently has 23 patrons, including DHL Express, East Midlands Airport, Experian, The Money Shop, Wilko and Santander.
