Pellacraft a Living Wage employer

Posted onPosted on 10th Jul

Mansfield-based business gifts and promotional merchandise specialists Pellacraft has been accredited as a Living Wage employer.

Its Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at Pellacraft, regardless of whether they are direct employees or third-party contracted staff, receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.45.

The rate represents a ‘real’ living wage and is significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s of £7.50 per hour introduced in April 2017.

The Living Wage Foundation said the ‘real’ Living Wage was an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. It is calculated according to the real costs of living.

Commenting on the decision, Pellacraft director Sam Pella said: “One of our core company values is that we believe in people before profit and one of our main aims is to promote worker’s rights and social justice. In supporting the Living Wage we are further upholding our core company values.”

Employers choose to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis.
