1st Farnsfield Scout Group has received £420 from Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme for three new tents.

Richard Sneade, Cub leader at the group, which has grown from 12 to 80 members in the last 18 months, said: “The Cubs will shortly be celebrating the centenary of the section with some experiencing their first night away in a tent.”

Carole Dallison, assistant manager of The Mansfield’s Sutton and Kirkby branches, said: “We are delighted to be helping this local group because it is providing lifelong skills as well as adventurous activities for young people in a safe environment.”
